Heart of the Ozarks United Way is a non-profit oganization founded in August 1960. Their goal is to assist social agencies serving Howell County, MO for the purpose of raising funds for special programs that will have a positive impact on the community.

Examples of funded agencies include:
Samaritan Outreach Center
Christos House
Agape House
Roots to Wings
Single Parent Scholarship
American Red Cross
Senior Citizens Club of Willow Springs
Community Foundation of West Plains, Girl Scout Hut
Community Foundation of West Plains, Rotary Back Pack
Boys Scouts Ozark Trails Council
Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland
Willow Springs Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Special Olympics-Southwest Region
Mtn. View Family Youth Center
Boys and Girls Club-Thayer Branch
Ozark Family YMCA-Willow Springs
